This week was F week and we had so much fun!
Tuesday was Firemen day and picture day. We started the day coloring a fire truck. Then we smiled our best and got our pictures taken. In morning centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase F, did some letter and number tracing, and did farm fence patterns activity with colored popsicle sticks. For art, we painted our feet to make piggies for our ABC Farm. Then we got to see the firemen presentation and the fire truck! The kids loved this so much and we got some great pictures. We colored a thank you firefighters page to give to the firemen. At the end of the day, we did our farm following the directions page. This is fun to see when compared to the end of the year. I say a poem and the kids have to listen to see what color to color the animals on the farm. At the end of the year, we will do it again to compare how their listening skills and coloring skills have improved.
Wednesday was Farm day. We started the day playing toys. We had our second week of specials. The kids got to rotate around the all day classrooms learning phonics, Spanish, science, and sign language. In phonics, we watched our ZooPhonics video and practiced our new F sound and motion with Francy Fish. In afternoon centers, we matched upper and lowercase letters onto a tractor, did our F cutting page, did a farm yard coloring page, and laced fall lacing cards. At the end of the day, we got to go outside to play with our friends.
Thursday was Frog day. We started the day practicing writing our names. In morning centers, we found F’s on a frog page, traced numbers on our drawing boards, cut out a frog star and glued it onto green paper, and fed frogs bugs after rolling a dice. This was a fun game! In afternoon centers, we colored F and a frog in a pond, did our farm patterns page, played a fishing game, and made F’s and other letters we have learned on our geoboards. At the end of the day, we talked about the life cycle of a frog and did a page together as a class.
Join us next week for P week, Pizza, PJs and popcorn, and our field trip to the Pumpkin Patch!
