Hi Parents,

We had another great week! Our theme all week was ‘Toy Story.’ Here’s a snap shot…

On Tuesday in morning centers, the kids worked on a color by number, they put together Mr. Potato head, they practiced writing their names, and they used grabbers to save the pizza planet aliens from the claw game! In the afternoon the kids worked on their monthly name writing and coloring page. These will be completed every month and will be in your child’s binder at the end of the year. We want you to see the progress he/she makes with both coloring and writing his/her name. We ended the day with toys in the big room.

On Wednesday in morning centers, the kids finished their color by number, they cut lines to toy story characters, they traced shape words and circled with looked different in the pictures, and they built shapes with mega blocks. In the afternoon we had art. The kids used stickers to fill in their name, which was in bubble letters. I posted a few pictures on GroupMe in case you want to see what they looked like. We ended the day with magnets and finishing up some earlier work, then went for a walk outside. This weather has been so beautiful!

On Thursday in morning centers, the kids drew a card with a number and built a tower that high with unifix cubes, they cut, glued, and sorted the people toys and the animal toys from toy story, they played with toy story characters with kinetic sand, and they used toy story Lego minifigures to practice opposites and placement words with a small cup. (I would ask them to ‘put the character on top, put the character in front, put the character under’…etc.) In afternoon centers, the kids worked on writing their names, practiced cutting, built with magna tiles and played with toy story toys. We ended the day with toys in the big room.

Next week we will start talking about the letters and the themes will be different every day. Next week is all about A, check out the calendar to see what our themes are!

Take Care,

Missy
