The kiddos are really getting used to and learning how a full day in pre-k goes. This week we focused on activities around Pete the Cat.

On Tuesday, we started our day by coloring a Pete the Cat coloring page while we waited for all our friends to arrive. We read the books Pete the Cat-My Four Groovy Buttons and Pete the Cat-Too Cool for School. During morning center time, we used Pete the cat flash cards and put the corresponding number of buttons on Pete’s shirt, cut out the first initial of our names, put in order an ABC Pete the Cat puzzles, and laced with buttons. During afternoon center time, we put the letters of our name in a ten frame, practiced tracing/writing our names, made numbers 1-10 with playdoh and made ABCs with pop-its. We also started our Original Works art projects.

On Wednesday, we started our day by practicing tracing/writing our names while we waited for our friends to arrive. We read the books Pete the Cat-I Love My White Shoes and Pete the Cat-Rocking in my School Shoes. During morning center time, we made patterns with Pete the Cat patterning cards, practiced cutting with a Pete The Cat cutting sheet, traced with a Pete the Cat themed page, and made things out of Brain Flakes. During afternoon centers, we rainbow traced with our first names, did word puzzles, played with tanagram puzzles, and colored a Rocking in my School Shoes coloring sheet. We also worked on our Original Works project some more.

On Thursday, we started our day by coloring a Pete the Cat coloring page while we waited for our friends get there. We read the book Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses. For art, we pasted together a Pete the Cat project by following directions. During afternoon centers, we colored a Pete the Cat color by number page, made our ABCs with snap cubes, Worked together by matching upper and lower case ABCs with a Pete the Cat theme, and did a creative writing, Rocking in My (color) Shoes. We then got to free play with our friends for a little bit before going home.

As you can see, we have been very busy!!! The kids are doing really well!!!
