Hi Parents,

We had a great week talking about the letter Mm. Here is a snap shot…

On Tuesday our theme was ‘M is for Mustache.’ In morning centers, the kids counted and stacked blocks on a mustache with numbers on  it, they colored and cut out their own mustache, which I put on a stick for them, they practiced writing upper and lowercase M, and they cut lines on mustache cutting sheets. In afternoon centers the kids practiced cutting, put puzzles together and traced a monkey and a moon. After playing with toys during our extra big room time, we played ‘put the mustache on Mrs. Missy,’ which the kids loved. I had them close their eyes, I spun them around, then I had them try to place a mustache on my face. It was really fun!

On Wednesday our theme was ‘If you give a moose a muffin.’ In morning centers, the kids counted beads in to muffin tins that had numbers on the bottom, they colored the letter M and made it a moose, they cut and glued their M page, and they twisted together giant nuts and bolts made for play. In afternoon centers the kids used dot markers on a muffin, they had the chance to eat muffins (their favorite center yet!), they played with magnet people and also built with LEGO’s. We of course also read the book ‘If you give a moose a muffin.’ We ended our day with art. The kids made the very hungry caterpillar by gluing the head and green squares on to their paper. This project will go up in our hallway!

On Thursday I hope everyone had a blast at County Line Orchard! Unfortunately, I had to leave to go pick up my sick kid at school, but it was a beautiful day!

Next week we will be talking about the letter A and apples all week. Looking forward to it!

Missy
