Hi Parents,
We had a great week learning about the letter Aa. Here is a snapshot…
All week our theme was ‘apples!’
On Tuesday in morning centers the kids rolled a die and counted ‘apples’ (pom poms) on to trees with tweezers, they practiced writing the letter Aa, they cut and glued their A page, and they worked on an apple shaped pin poke. In afternoon centers the kids cut and glued an apple in sequence of how it was eaten, they built with connectors, and they used magnets and magnet wands. After centers the kids spent some extra time with toys in the big room. We ended the day with chapel with Mrs. Kelli and Mrs. Kristina. They talked about kindness!
On Wednesday in morning centers the kids made shapes with mega blocks, they rainbow wrote their names, they worked on an apple dot page, and they finished an apple themed color by shape. In afternoon centers the kids played with boats and ducks in water, they sorted pom poms with tongs, they practiced using just a dot of glue, and they cut and glued a puzzle. For art the kids had the chance to paint with real apples. They loved it! We ended our day with toys.
On Thursday in morning centers the kids counted apples and marked the number with apple stickers, they worked on an apple color by letter, they traced lines on an apple and colored things that start with A, and they built with silicone toys. In afternoon centers the kids built numbers with Duplo blocks, they finished their work from the morning, they looked at books, and they had the chance to taste 3 different kinds of apples. The kids loved trying apples at school. I sent the sheet home so you could see which of the three apples they liked best, red, yellow or green. We ended the day with toys with Mrs. Brenda’s class.
Next week we will talk about the letter O as we transition in to October!
Looking forward to it,
Missy
