Hi Parents,

We had a great week with the letter M! Here’s a snap shot…

On Tuesday our theme was ‘If you give a moose a muffin.’ In morning centers, the kids counted ‘blueberries’ (beads) into muffin tins with numbers on the bottom of the wrappers, they fed a ‘moose’ letters after saying what the letter was, and they used shapes to put together puzzles. In the afternoon we worked on a very special art project that will be coming home in a few weeks! We ended the day by reading the book, “If You Give A Moose A Muffin” and ate muffins! We then did an activity with pictures of muffins. Each student got a picture and had to listen closely to the instructions, so he/she knew what to do if they had the right size/color of muffin. It was a fun listening activity!

On Wednesday our theme was ‘mustache.’ In morning centers, the kids made block towers on a mustache with numbers on it, they cut lines to a face with a mustache, and they made the letter M into a moose and gave him a mustache. The kids loved making these and they will come home next week! In afternoon centers the kids used connecting sticks and pop-its and also completed an oval sheet. They had to trace, color and cut ovals. We ended the day by playing ‘put the mustache on Mrs. Missy’ and doing an activity called “I mustache you a question.” All of the kids had a mustache on a stick and I asked yes or no questions. If their answer was yes, the kids held their mustache up to their lip. It was a fun way to end the day!

Thursday was our field trip. What a fun day! I hope your kids had so much fun at Fair Oaks!

Next week is a new month and new letters. Looking forward to it!

Take Care,

Missy
