Hello!!! Welcome to the 2025/2026 school year!!! I am so excited for this year!!!
This week we spent getting used to the routine of school and the rules of the school.
On Tuesday, we started the day by getting to know each other while we waited for all of our friends to get there. For morning centers, we made our numbers with snap cubes, made our ABCs with playdoh, colored a “This is me…” page and wrote our names, and laced our ABCs. After lunch, we painted our hands for our “First Day Handprints”. For afternoon centers, we colored a first day of school page, worked with tanagram puzzles, and made words with our alphabet. We also read books about starting school and making new friends!!!
On Wednesday, we got to “play” while waiting for our friends to get there. For morning centers, we rolled a die and built that number of unifix blocks into towers, practiced cutting circles and ovals, made our ABCs with pop-its, and used snap cubes to make “Back to School” objects. For afternoon centers, we traced our numbers, matched colored bears to the right colored circle, played with kinetic sand, and laced beads. We also colored our name pencil by following directions. We also read more books about school and making friends.
On Thursday, we, again, started out by waiting for our friends to arrive by getting to know each other. For morning centers, we patterned with unifix cubes, made our numbers with playdoh, matched upper- and lower-case ABCs with a “back-to-school” theme, and linked our linking chains together. For art, we assembled our name pencil. In the afternoon, we played a game by doing actions to the ABCs. Then, since it was beautiful outside, we got to play with Mrs. Kristina’s class at the playground.
As you can see, we are very busy during the day!!! The kiddos are learning the routine. Please be patient with us as we navigate through these first couple of weeks!!!
Also, I still have a couple of you that have not turned in your GroupMe information. Please do so ASAP!!! This is the only way I will be communicating with you in the future!!! I send a lot of reminders and pictures on there throughout the year!!!
As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me!!!
Until next week,
Mrs. Brandi
