This week we learned about our first letter, letter M! We started the week with mustache day on Tuesday. Morning work we did our names and numbers in quick kits. In centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase M, played a mustache color game, counted bears, and made our own mustaches. These are always silly pictures! For art we made a mustache M where the kids had to cut out an M and put a mustache and eyes on it. We also made tissue paper letters for our name projects. Then we got to play in the big room with our friends. We ended the day with an M riddle game.

Wednesday was “If you give a moose a muffin” day. We started the day playing with toys with friends. In circle time, we read If you give a moose a muffin book. In morning centers, we wrote about our favorite muffin, matched the uppercase letter muffins to the lowercase letter jams, we sorted pom poms into color muffin tins, and did our M cutting page. In afternoon centers, we did our September writing sample, matched numbers to their ten frames, played with magnets, and caught up on any work from the week. At the end of the day, we got to eat muffins with our friends!

Thursday we had our field trip to the apple orchard. It was so great to see lots of my kids and their parents and grandparents. I had a great time learning about bees, how they sort apples, make apple cider, and loved picking my very own apples! Great pictures coming your way on GroupMe.

See you next week for our A week. We will learn about the letter A, our theme is apples, and we will also get to wear the color red!
