Mrs. Kelli’s Preschool Classroom

We made it through our first month of Preschool—yay! With each passing day, I am seeing all of my littles becoming more familiar and comfortable in our classroom setting. Best of all, we’re seeing many friendships forming which is precious to watch!

This week, we reviewed September themes, and introduced our October themes, beginning with the letter F,

Books this week:

Fall

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. -For that book, we have an actual “Old Lady” doll & all of the things she “swallowed”, such as the fly, the bird, the dog, etc.  Mrs. Ducky joined me as I read, using the items to act out the story. The kids loved it & we loved doing it for them!

Centers this week:

Apple Sorting by color

Q-tip painted number trees (these went home)

1:1 correspondence- leaf counting using clip cards

A fall sensory bin with letters Aa & Mm

Play-Doh

Tracing lines on quick-kits

Farm felt board

Coloring a fire truck for our Ff ABC page

Frog Counting

Putting feathers on F

ART/Other:

For Art, we painted our feet yellow! We are going to make the feet into stalks of corn for our school-wide ABC farm wall! Stay tuned for pictures!

We also did our first of 2 farm following directions projects. We read a story, which told the kiddos what to color, what color to use, etc. This tests their coloring skills, but most importantly, their ability to follow a given direction. We will do the same exact thing again in May to see their progress!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Next Monday & Tuesday are picture days!

Until Next Week,

Mrs. Kelli
