This week was All About Me Week. We also celebrated Layla’s birthday. Tuesday we started the day reading books with friends. At circle time, we shared our All about me papers they did at home. It was great getting to know each student. In centers, we looked into mirrors and drew ourselves, we played the letter popsicle game, played with blocks, and started our All about me books. For art, we painted egg cartons to make caterpillars. The kids had so much fun with this! We played in the big room with friends at the end of the day while I continued with the beginning of the year evaluations.
Wednesday we started the day coloring a caterpillar. In morning centers, we drew our families, continued our All about me books, played alphabet bingo, and played with picasso tiles. In afternoon centers, we finished our All about me books, played letter construction, did a trace match color page, and played with play doh. At the end of the day, we watched a video and did evaluations.
Thursday was Layla’s birthday. We started the day practicing writing our names. In morning centers, we made a name caterpillar, played an alphabet match game, played number bingo, and practiced cutting. In afternoon centers, we traced and counted numbers, did number tracing cards, used paint dotters to make a caterpillar, and played letter pop its. At the end of the day, we got to play with our friends.
See you next week for our first letter we are learning. The letter M, we will have mustache day and if you give a moose a muffin day where we will get to eat muffins! We also have our first field trip to the apple orchard, hope to see you all there!
