Hello! Apple week was a success! We did lots of Apple related activities and ended the week tasting 3 different types of apples! I think that was probably a highlight of the week!
On Tuesday we made an apple basket with our name- they are hanging in the hall at school, put stickers on an apple sheet, using numbered apple trees, put play apples in the tree, measured different fall pictures with unifix cubes, Traced the letter A.
On Tuesday we had our first chapel lesson- We learned about The Golden Rule- Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. After our lesson we colored rocks with kindness words to display around our school.
On Wed we painted apples with Qtips, worked on our hand muscles by using a hole punch to punch circles in a apple tree, sorted apples by size and color, in a sensory bin found apples with numbers and matched them to a dotted apple, used apple tree play doh mats. We also did a worksheet focusing on the A sounds.
On Thursday we followed directions and did a color by number to find an apple, practiced our cutting skills, used bingo dot markers to find and mark the Letter Aa, practiced writing the letter A on a standing white board- studies show this position is very beneficial to children learning to write, numbered apple puzzle.
We also colored an apple using markers and water. Then we tasted our apples! I think yellow was the stand alone winner of the group. We filled out a sheet telling which we liked most!
We all had a fun week! Next week we have one more day on the letter A (astronauts) and then we’ll move on to the letter O.
Have a great weekend! See you Tuesday!
