Hello! We had fun with the Letter U this week!
Tuesday was all about Under water.
In our centers we made an underwater scene on a plastic sleeve, did our letter U sounds worksheet, roll and count fish erasers, Under the sea floor puzzle, made under water animals with shape blocks.
In the afternoon we did a water color project of a seahorse and did a directed draw picture of a fish.
Wednesday was U is for Up! We had specials which included a lesson in phonics, Spanish, and sign language. We also learned a little bit about gravity in Science.
On Wednesday we also had Chapel. We learned that Easter is a day to celebrate so much more than the Easter bunny.
In our centers on Wednesday we used dot markers to color a hot air balloon, did a #17 worksheet, made diamonds (rhombus’) with rubber bands, played Let’s go Fishing, and a raindrop letter match.
In the afternoon we played Simon says with ribbons and practiced using direction words (under, over, left, right etc)
Thursday was U is for Unicorns and Umbrellas.
In our centers we colored an umbrella with a pattern or design for a “Sprinkle Kindness” project., used shape punches to punch holes in all the letter Us, traced and wrote the letter U in a quick kit, counted erasers on a unicorn 10 frame . Made the letter U out of kinetic sand.
In the afternoon we did a “Up” painting project and did a Unicorn craft.
This week one of the kids asked if they brought in their library book if I could read it to the class, the answer is Yes!! If anyone brings in a age appropriate book I will do my best to try and read it to the class!
Next week is the Letter G for Grandparents!! We are excited to have our Grandparents visit us at school!!
Have a great weekend!
