We made it through week 3 already! We have some exciting things coming up these next few weeks so be sure to check your calendars!
Monday: Monster Monday – We had some fun monster books, Monster Appetite and I Met My Monster. Students started off their day coloring four different size circles which we later cut out during centers. We also practiced matching our uppercase and lowercase letters with alligator connectors. The last 2 centers were drawing our own monsters on our doodle boards and practicing our letter Aa sound. Today was our first time having Chapel, which we go into their church for a short Bible story. Ask your child if they remember what it was about. 7 days of creation!
Tuesday: If You Give A Moose a Muffin – As the students arrived their found their names and started practicing in their QKs. I also called them up to have them get started on their Original Works. The books we read today were I Need My Monster and If You Give A Moose a Muffin. Our centers included doing a number match cut and paste, using Pop-Its to make letter A and M, drawing what they would give their moose instead of muffins and what kind of muffin they would like to eat. We ended the day enjoying some muffins!
Wednesday: Marvelous Manners – Hopefully the kids came home and used lots of manners (although I told them to use them ALL the time, not just today!). They started the day with a manners coloring page. Our books were Say Please, Louise!, Pig the Fibber, and Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns to Listen. We made our Missy the Mouse Zoophonics craft, completed our letter Mm sound page, and also our September writing and coloring sample.
Thursday: Mini-Marshmallow m’s – Our names were out in our QKs to start the day. The books we read were Five Little Monkeys with Nothing to Do and This is Moose. We rotated between making our marshmallow m’s and doing some watercolors for our Original Works project.
*THINGS TO WORK ON AT HOME: FINE MOTOR PRACTICE!!! (3 FINGER GRIP ON PENCILS/CRAYONS, CUTTING, TEARING PAPER) ALSO, WRITING THEIR NAMES, LETTER & NUMBER RECOGNITION. FLASHCARDS WORK WELL FOR RECOGNITION.
Message me if you have any questions about this week! See everyone on Monday! Enjoy the last possible hot weekend!
