We had a great week! The weather for our first field trip was a bit gloomy but it sounds like the kids still had a great time! Thank you to all who ventured out and picked apples with us!

On Monday we talked about things we might see at the Apple orchard. We read Max and Mo go Apple Picking. We played in the Big room and practiced some of the social skills we are working on- sharing, taking turns, and getting along with others.

In our centers we Played magnetic blocks, traced lines, built with little legos, put together puzzles, and used electronic writing boards.

On Tuesday we met at the Apple Orchard!

Wed/Thursday we worked on the numbers 0 and 1.

We read Llama Llama Learns to Share and we practiced tracing our names.

  1.     In our centers we counted 0 & 1 into a muffin tin, practiced fine motor skills on a mini peg board, built the numbers 0 and 1 with unifix cubes, a number 1 worksheet, wooden number pegs. Throughout the day I showed many examples of zero and one! Including telling. The kids to ask a parent How many horses live in our house? (Zero) and also How many noses are on your face? (One) The kids may come home with those questions!

We are entering the cold season! Please encourage covering coughs and sneezes and washing hands. Also if your child is sick please keep them home! Germs spread really fast in our classes despite the measures we take.

Have a great weekend! See you next week! Are we really already going to be in October?!?!

Thank you,

Mrs. Kristina
