This week in school we focused on Pete the Cat books and games, We also reviewed letters “A” and “M”. Since we did not have a letter this week we spent a lot of time counting and identifying numbers 1 to 10!
On Monday, we read Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes. This book not only enforced counting 1 to 10 but also simple subtraction. The class decorated cupcakes and pretended to make playdoh cupcakes. We also played a Pete the Cat memory game.
Hope everyone enjoyed the break from school on Tuesday. We were lucky that the rain was not too bad! Apple picking appeared to be a hit.
On Wednesday, we read Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons. Again this book enforced simple subtraction. We worked on a Pete the Cat math sheet and played a Pete the cat button game.
On Thursday, we finished the week reading Pete the Cat and His White Shoes. The kids made Pete the Cat puppets and enjoyed playing the games they learned earlier in the week.
Looking Ahead: next week is “R” for Rainbow.
