This week we covered the letter Dd and had some fun with our crafts and activities throughout the week!
Monday: Dialing our Phone Numbers- Start up: Writing phone numbers and addresses in QKs; Centers/Activities: Clipped out our phone numbers with clothespins, wrote out our numbers on phones & colored it, Dd item color page, Dialed our numbers out on the door, and created our Zoophonics Deedee the Deer animal craft; Books- Detective Dog and the Disappearing Doughnuts and David Gets In Trouble.
Tuesday: Dental Health Day- Start up: Color page with teeth; Centers/Activities: colored and cut hot air balloon for next week, created our own tooth with toothpaste, dental puzzles; Books- My Tooth is Loose Dr. Moose, Clark the Shark Tooth Trouble, and Little Critter Visits the Dentist.
Wednesday: Dino day 1- Start up: Dino color page; Centers/Activities: Q-tip paint dab D with dinosaur, Dd trace page, Dino scene color page; Books: Duck Duck Dinosaur and the Noise at Night, Dinos Love Underpants.
Thursday: Dino day 2- Start up: Phone Numbers and Addresses in QKs; Centers/Activities: Dino tails cut/paste/color, Dino color page, Dino upper/lowercase alphabet matching, Dino hunt, also the boys made dino headbands and girls got dino hair! Book: Dinosaurumpus!
Continue working with letter AND number recognition (FLASHCARDS!)! Also on Monday we dialed our numbers on the door. I wrote out numbers on paper plates and taped them to the door to look like a phone keypad. You can do this also at home on a door or side of the fridge using painters tape so there’s no problem or on a wall! The kids enjoyed tapping them out!
