This week was full of activity and excitement.

On Monday we ended the day with time outside on the playground.  While the children were playing on the slide they discovered a mother duck sitting on a nest full of eggs.  We learned that the mother duck will sit on this nest for 30 days – needless to say she was not happy and the children will be playing on the field not the playground for the rest of the school year!

On Monday, we worked on surprise projects for King and Queen day.  King and Queen day has been rescheduled for Monday, May 29th at 9:30 due to a funeral.  There will be a normal class day on the 22nd BUT we will have a google classroom on the 23rd.

On the 23rd there will be a google classroom.  To prepare for the upcoming unit on frogs I will be posting several frog videos and activities.  If your child returns a frog or turtle drawing (videos on how to draw will be posted) they will get an extra treat from the treasure box!

On Tuesday, we talked about the letter Q,  Q is for quilt, queen, and quarters.  The children practiced writing letter Q’s and designed a quilt.  We also started end of the year assessments.

On Wednesday, the children sorted coins and learned to identify QUARTERS.  We also heard the story Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse.

On Thursday, the children decided what they would do if they were a King or a Queen.  We heard the story about a turtle king named Yertle, worked on making graduation hats and finished year end assessments.

Have a great weekend.
