Monday started out with the class showing-off their socks.  Some were crazy and some were plain but everyone had on warm socks.  We then read the story The Hat; a little hedgehog got a sock stuck on his head and pretended it was a new hat!  The class painted hats and practiced their cutting.

Tuesday we focused on the letter X and read a book about a little girl who broke her arm and needed to get a X-ray.  The children looked at some real X-rays, played doctor, traced hands and created X rays.  We also played both letter and number Bingo.

Wednesday the kinetic sand came out.  It was a big hit!  We also made Xylophones concentrating on putting the stripes of paper in size order.  The class also followed a treasure map to find the treasure box hidden in the school -X MARKS THE SPOT!  We again ended the day with Bingo.

Thursday the children made shadows on the wall and learned about Groundhog Day.  Their homework is to report back and tell me if the groundhog saw his shadow or not.

Looking ahead:  Monday the post office will be set up.  Thanks for all the stickers and envelopes!

Have a great weekend!
