Another very busy week!

Monday was a very busy day with school pictures and a visit from two fire fighters!  The children not only got to talk with the fire fighters and see their equipment but they climbed into the fire truck – very exciting.  I put the pictures on our class group me chat.

Tuesday was a fun day full of spiders and farm animals.  We read the story The Very Busy Spider, counted spiders and put them on webs, and sang spider songs.  There was a  barn with farm animals in the block center, for art the children marble painted spider webs and for the writing center the children drew spiders.

Wednesday was all about the letter “F”.  F” is for farm and fall.  The children drew with markers on a cookie sheet, sprayed the cookies sheet with water – as the marker started to run they blotted it up with a leaf cut out – presto – a beautiful fall leaf!  They also worked hard on their “F” writing.

Thursday’s focus was math.  They heard the story 10 Little Leaves and used their fingers to count backwards.  For art they sponge painted fall trees and made hand print sheep to hang on the wall in the big room.  The children practiced writing their number 5’s and counted spiders!

The best part of the week was the beautiful weather and playing outside.

Looking ahead:  “P” is for pumpkin.
