F is for Fun, Fall, Farm, and Firefighter . . . Our letter of the week was the letter F.  The children are getting much better at recognizing their letters and numbers.

On Monday, the children meet a firefighter and toured a fire truck and ambulance.

On Tuesday, we read The Very Busy Spider.  Not only did the spider meet a bunch of farm animals but he also created a beautiful web.  All the children painted a spider web and drew a spider.  We also counted spiders and learned about the farm animals.

On Wednesday,  We focused on writing the letter F,  painted Fall leaves and had our pictures taken.

On Thursday,  We practiced our cutting and name writing.  When helping your child write their name at home use a capital for the first letter and lower case for the rest of their name.

Please note:  I love getting messy with the kids!  Play dough, paint, markers, and scissors are used daily.  Dress your child for fun!  Also send your child with shoes and coats that are appropriate for outdoor play 🙂

Looking ahead:

“P” is for PUMKIN!
