The focus of the week was the letter “M” and the number “2”.
On Monday, The class heard the story Go Away Big Green Monster and Glad Monster, Sad Monster. “M” is for MONSTER! The children made green monster faces and practiced cutting. They also played a shape monster game in circle and drew monsters in their class journals. We ended the day outside. Everyone brought home a monster treat.
The first chapel of the year was on Monday. God created the earth.
On Tuesday, they heard the story If You Give a Moose a Muffin. The class had a “Muffin” picnic on the playground. They worked on making their Original Work fund raiser drawing – more to come on that later in the month. They also worked on writing the letter M.
On Wednesday, They heard the story Where the Wild Things Are, practiced writing the number 2 and did free water color painting.
On Thursday, they glued mini marshmallows on a letter “M”. They cut out an oval monster (which was a little tricky) and enjoyed going outside.
Looking ahead: Next week is Pete the Cat Week. The children will play several Pete the Cat games and hear my favorite Pete books.
Reminder: Field Trip on Tuesday to County Line Orchard.
