I hope everyone enjoyed the field trip to Fair Oaks Farm today. Despite the cloudy weather it was a very fun and educational day!
The theme this week was Pete the Cat. If you have not had a chance to read any Pete the Cat books yet I highly recommend them. I believe the favorite book of the week was Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons. I was very impressed that one of the children asked what the word “groovy” meant. It prompted an entire discussion on what we each were wearing that was “groovy”.
The focus of the week was games. The children played memory, a groovy button game, and doggie, doggie, where is your bone?
We also spent time working on both counting to 10 by reading the book Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes and recognizing numbers.
Looking ahead: Next week is Rainbow week!
