We covered our second to last letter Qq this week and completed some King and Queen Day items. Also, we continued to review our numbers nineteen and twenty along with our shape the octagon. We are continuing to monitor our growing caterpillars and anxiously awaiting their next phase.

Monday: Q-tip painting – Students came in and started their day with a craft for King and Queen Day. After big room, we finished the project as one of our centers. We also completed our April writing and coloring sample, caterpillar Q-Tip painting and coloring and cutting out another project for later in the week. The book read today was our Alpha tale story The Quiet Quail.

Tuesday: Crafty Quilters – Start up today was coloring in their own pattern on a colonial quilt. I told the classes that quilts are usually made in patterns and had a sample for them to look at. We made name quilts, which took some time and turned out nice! You will be seeing those soon. More King and Queen Day activities were done also. The books I read today were Little Critter, Just a Big Storm and Little Raindrop.

Wednesday: Q is for Quarter – Students started their day by completing a quilt pattern page by cutting/pasting and coloring. We discussed a quarter and completed a worksheet. We discussed the value, how many make up $1.00, and did some counting on the page. We also completed a craft we started earlier in the week and made our zoophonics folders that will house all their animals they have made throughout the year. The book today was The Rain Came Down.

Thursday: Colorful Queens – The classes came in and had a queen coloring page at their pouch waiting for them. We constructed our Queenie and Quail for our zoophonics craft. We also finished out zoophonics folders, finished up some King and Queen Day items, as well as continued with our end of the year evaluations.  Today we read the book Clifford: The Big Storm Rescue.
