This week we covered our 25th letter, only one left next week and we went through the entire alphabet! Crazy to think one more week and then it is May already! This year has gone by quickly!

Monday: Yarntastic Y’s – Students came in and found their Y is for Yarn color page. We had some Dad projects we worked on today and will finish later in the week. We also completed a 2-page Y activity. They colored all the yarn pictures and then cut and pasted them onto the uppercase Y. The book read today was How to Catch a Yeti.

Tuesday: Y is for Yak – The class came in and found their pouch with their supplies to create their own Yancy the Yak for our zoophonics letter. Students have been independent when we set these out at start up and follow my sample on the board to complete them. The animals are a bit more unique when we have them complete them by looking at my sample, instead of doing them as an all-class activity. We also finished our Dad/King activity today since it needed to dry from the previous day. The book read today was Little Dinos Don’t Yell.

Wednesday: Wear Yellow/Earth Day – The kids came in and got started right away getting all their Lorax pieces cut out for our Earth Day/Lorax craft. We had our Earth Day program at 10am and 1:15pm so the class time to get our Lorax complete was limited but they turned out great! We had LOTS of yellow on and it made the classrooms cheerful today!

Thursday: Yay for Yoga – Students started the day with a Y item color page. When they returned from some song practice and yoga in the big room, we completed some things that we needed to finish up for Monday! (You will see everything they did for moms and dads on Monday for King/Queen Day! After we got those activities finished, we completed a yellow page with cut/paste the word yellow and also finished drawing the other side of a flower. The books read today were It is Earth Day Little Critter (we didn’t have time yesterday) and Peppa Does Yoga.

One more week left of the month, and we are on the home stretch! Next week we will cover Qq, our last letter. If you have any questions about graduation or end of the year activities, please send an email or contact me on GroupMe.

I hope everyone has a  good weekend and hope we can get some warmer weather back to have the kids go outside a bit for big room time! ????
