We covered our last letter Kk this week and twenty-six letters went by super-fast! The next few weeks we will be reviewing all the letters, shapes, numbers, colors…everything we have learned and gone over throughout the year as review. Crazy we have just twelve school days left!!!
Monday: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom – We started the day with a K is for Kite coloring page. Of course, with our theme for today we read the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and then created our own name coconut trees that came out great. You will see them soon! We also introduced our letter Kk sound and zoophonics animal, Kayo the Kangaroo. The books today were Alphatale story Kangaroo Kazoo and K is for Kissing a Cool Kangaroo.
Tuesday: E-Learning Day (church funeral)
Wednesday: Earth Day/Kicking Kangaroos – Today to go along with our Earth Day activities, at start up we started cutting all our pieces for our Lorax craft. Once we returned from the big room, we constructed our Lorax, and they turned out great! Our Earth Day activities started with Mrs. Trish giving a talk with them about what can and cannot be recycled. While she was having a chat with them, us teachers spread out some “trash” in the yard for the kids to kick! The kids enjoyed racing around to get it all cleaned up. Our book today was Do Kangaroos Wear Seat Belts?
Thursday: Kids started the day with a Recycle, Reduce, Reuse coloring page that went along with Mrs. Trish’s discussion with them yesterday. We also made our last zoophonics animal, Kayo the Kangaroo. Lastly, we finished 99% of our end-of-the-year evaluations. There may be one thing missing on a few due to being absent, but we will get those done next week. The books today were The Koala Who Could and Try a Little Kindness.
12 days is all we have left together!! YIKES!
REMINDER: King and Queen Day is now Monday, April 29th. The morning class’s program is at 9:30am and the afternoon program is at 12:30pm. The kids worked hard on the items they get to give you, so I hope you enjoy!
