I just counted and only 6 more weeks of school! WOW! And these next few weeks with lots of things happening, will make the days go by even faster! We only have three letters left and we will be complete with the alphabet!
Tuesday: Beautiful Butterflies – Start up today was a Bb is for Butterfly page for the kids to color. The books today were our Alphatale story Bubble Bear and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We discussed the life cycle of a butterfly, and we will be getting some in our class towards the end of the month! The kids were excited about getting a “class pet” LOL! The activities we completed today were Bubba the Bear for our zoophonics animal and an Easter I Spy page. At the end of the day, we did Pin the Tail on the Bunny. After finding out that some kids may have been able to see through the blindfold (a few put it perfectly on the bunny in the AM class) we just decided that everyone gets candy! I gave each student an egg with candy!
Wednesday: BLUEY Day! – The classes came in to find a Bluey coloring page for them to complete. We also incorporated Bluey in some of our centers. They completed a pattern page from Truffula tree tufts, Bb letter sort cut/paste, made Bluey bookmarks, and lastly played Bluey Memory. The books today were The Very Impatient Caterpillar and The Little Butterfly that Could. (I left my Bluey books next to my school bag, so we read them on Thursday instead!)
Thursday: Basketball Day – Students came in to practice their first and last names in QKs along with the alphabet on the back side. We colored a basketball pattern page and played a new alphabet game, I have…Who has. They did well and we hopefully will get faster each time we play. By request, we did a few rounds of number Kaboom also. We read a few Bluey stories today and I showed some of the characters from the show.

Next week we will be covering the letter Yy and continue working with numbers 19 and 20 and the last month shape, octagon. We are hoping for some nicer, drier weather so we can get outside during big room time!
