Hello! I can’t believe we’re already at Christmas Break! The year seems to be flying by!

This week we worked on the Letter C. All things clouds, candy canes and cookies!

On Tuesday it was clouds- we also worked on some surprise Christmas crafts and practiced for the Christmas Program. In our centers we filled in the missing letters of the alphabet, counted cars, and practiced writing the letter C. To end the day we did a Letter C sounds worksheet.

Wednesday C was for Candy cane! We did a directed drawing of a reindeer, made a candy cane with beads, sorted and made patterns with Christmas erasers, and roll and count dice to decorate a Christmas tree. We also went on a candy cane hunt and read the story of the Candy Cane.

Thursday was C is for Cookie! We did a name writing practice sheet and made patterns from the story If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, cut out cookies and glued to the Letter C, found and colored C sounding words, made triangles out of rubber bands on geo boards, and made a book practicing the Letter C. In the afternoon we did a Write The Room tracing the letter C when we saw C pictures. Then we got to eat cookies- What a Treat!

Next week is all about Christmas including our Christmas Program. Kids arrive at 8:45 on Wednesday and the program starts at 12:30 and the children are free to leave when the program is over. I will not be at the program as I will be chaperoning my son’s trip to Phantom of the Opera in Chicago. On Thursday we will have a fun day in Christmas PJs. Please remember to bring in a wrapped book $5 or under for our exchange on Thursday!

Have a great weekend! See you Tuesday!
