We had a great first full week of February and I hope that the Groundhog was true, and that spring will be coming soon! Here is our snapshot of the week:
Monday: Letters to New ABC students – Students started their day with our new letter Ll start up page. Locating all the upper and lowercase Ll’s in the scramble. We read through our Ll Alpha Tale story which was LuLu the Lamb Loves to Laugh. The zoophonics animal was Lizzy the Lizard, which the students constructed her as well. Lastly, we wrote our letters to the new ABC students that will be starting in the fall. We had lots of good handwriting and drawings. The other books read were Llama llama Mad at Momma and Splat the Cat and the Lost Library Book.
Tuesday: Last Names – The kids came in and found their last name practice pages to work on. Our centers were I Spy Winter Wonderland Count, Ll item color page, rainbow writing our last names, and completing a number 15 activity page. The books today were Llama llama Red Pajama and How to Lose a Lemur.
Wednesday: Lucky Ladybugs – We started with our first and last names in our QKs, along with our ABC practice on the back. Today our centers were completing a Love Bug number sequencing (they had a little cheat sheet in front of them to help if needed), making a ladybug craft, completing our last name books, and making Ll’s on our pop-its. The book today was Do Not Let Pigeon Stay Up Late.
Thursday: We Love ABC – The class started their day with a love bug color page. We created our heart creatures and our lollipops for L. The books today were Little Critter: Just a Little Love and Slugs in Love. The classes also enjoyed a little extra big room time.
REMINDER: Monday is our Valentine’s Day party. Parents are welcome to come!
