This week we covered the letter Ii and had some fun with it! I think Thursday was the kid’s favorite!

Monday: Interesting Insects – Students came into class and found their QKs and began working on their names and letters A-Z. We made name caterpillars on leaves (which I kept for now) and then completed a write the room and count the room with insects. We did this activity in the big room since there was more room to move around and me to spread the cards around. The books today were our Alpha tales story Iggy the Iguana and Inch by Inch.

Tuesday: GOOGLE CLASSROOM – Activities stay up on the class site if you ever want to go back and practice, either Boom Cards I post or any other activity. Thank you for sending me pictures of the kids doing some activities, I appreciate it! Also, AWESOME job to those who made instruments at home and brought them in!

Wednesday: Ice Cold Igloos – Classes started with a funky pencil they colored and cut out. These will be posted outside the classroom as well! The kids completed their January writing and coloring sample. We also made hot cocoa mugs that they colored/cut/and pasted together. We started our Inny the Inchworm for Zoophonics but will finish him tomorrow as we ran out of time. At the end of the day, we went into the church for our monthly chapel lesson. This month we talked about Jonah and the Whale. Kids listened to a short story and then we watched a short clip to go along with the lesson. The book read today was Curious George Builds an Igloo. Students also had some fun in big room doing their indoor ice skating since we weren’t able to do it on Tuesday. They enjoyed it and I did mention it in my Google Classroom as well.

Thursday: Ice Cream Social – The students came in and found their pouch and got their Inny the Inchworm complete by looking at my sample on the board. Once completed, they had an ice cream cone to color and cut out. We also did an ice cream cone Q-Tip painting page and an ice cream cone collage picture. The books we read today were Splat the Cat: I Scream for Ice Cream and Curious George Visits an Ice Cream Shop. We ended our day having our vanilla ice cream cups with sprinkles!

I will see you on Friday parents for Parent Teacher Conferences, if you have any questions, please bring them with you and I will do my best to answer them! Have a good weekend!
