Hello! Hope everyone is safe and warm after this weeks crazy snow storm!

We focused on the letter I this week.
Tuesday was I is for Igloo.
In our centers we finished an igloo project, built an igloo using unifix cubes and counting the different colors we used, color and find capital and lower case letter I,  we used salt and water to see what melts ice faster?
In the afternoon we did a Letter I sounds following directions project.

Wednesday was I is for Ice skate. In our centers we started an ice skate craft, used Qtips to paint a winter cap, using a dry erase sleeve we practiced writing and tracing the letter I, and built snowflakes.
We also had specials on Wednesday where we had a Spanish, sign language, and phonics lesson. We also learned that Polar bears have needle like fur with black skin and a thick layer of fat that keeps them warm. We used a crisco filled glove in a bowl of ice to demonstrate how it works.
In the afternoon we used paper plates to mock ice skating and we did a Write- the-room activity to practice writing some winter words.

Thursday was I is for Ice Cream!! The kids favorite day!!!

In our centers we did a writing prompt to write our favorite ice cream flavor, using 10 frames we built the numbers 6-13, we matched lower case to capital letter ice cream cones, played a ice cream balance game, and made playdoh ice cream cones. In art we did some balloon painting. At the end of the day we ended the week with ice cream which we ate with all the 3 Day All Day kids. It was one big Ice cream Social and the kids loved it. It isn’t often all 4 classes are together at once!

Next week we move onto letter s!
Have a great weekend, stay safe and warm!!
