Welcome Back!! I hope you all had a restful break! The kids did great coming back to school! They fell right back into routine.

This week we did all Things with the letter W.

On Tuesday W was for Welcome Back!

In our centers we found and circled all the letter Ws, matched capital to lower case letters in mitten form, found and scooped ws out of water, used floam to make the letter w.  In the afternoon we made a name snowman and did a w sounds worksheet.
On Wednesday it was W is for Watermelon. We also had specials. In our specials we Practiced sign language, phonics, and Spanish. We also did science where we watched a video on how snow is formed and saw how you could paint a snowflake with a combination of salt and water.

In our centers we painted an igloo for a future project, drew a number and counted out that many watermelon seeds (black beans) traced and cut out our hand print, made a W book. In the afternoon we worked on mid year evaluations, and did a watermelon craft.

Thursday was W is for Winter Wonderland. In our centers we did  a w is for winter craft, practiced hole punching winter objects, matched shape Penguins to the correct igloo shape, practiced writing the letter W on a white board, made patterns with winter objects- penguins, sleds, mittens.

In the afternoon we did an art project and writing prompt of My snowman melted because….
The kids did great this week after having 2 weeks off! I can see they have been practicing their writing skills at home!! Keep it up!! They are doing great!
