This week we covered the letter Uu and had some good books and activities in our centers! One more week left before Spring Break. Then when we return our last full month of school and then May…crazy to think this year is almost over already!

Monday: Underwater Adventures – Students started their day by finding their QK with their name to practice writing. Our centers today were using paint dabbers to fill in the whale, March writing/coloring sample, practiced writing our letter Uu in QKs and completed a Seuss color/count/graph page. The books today were our Alpha Tale story Umbrellabird’s Umbrella and Pout Pout Fish in the Big Big Dark. We also ended our day having some goldfish crackers!

Tuesday: Umbrellas – Students came in and started their day by coloring an umbrella page. We completed our zoophonics animal which is Umber the Umbrellabird. We also completed a diamond hunt page locating our shape of the month diamond/rhombus. Lastly, we created an umbrella with raindrops and the raindrops were our names. The books read today were Under My Umbrella and Underwear!

Wednesday: Unique Unicorns – The classes started their day coloring a unicorn and tracing the word unicorn. The centers we worked through today were a letter Uu item color page, uppercase/lowercase unicorn to rainbow letter match, counting out the number of pom-poms the unicorn had posted on them, and a St. Patrick’s Day item count and clip. Our book today was Never Let a Unicorn Scribble. We also had Chapel today and our lesson was about the true meaning of Easter.

Thursday: Wear Green for St. Patty’s Day – Students started the day coloring and constructing their rainbows into a pot of gold! We also created our leprechaun masks! See the pictures on GroupMe if you haven’t already! We also read three St. Patrick’s Day books: Pout Pout Fish Lucky Leprechaun, Peppa Loves St. Patrick’s Day, and Pete the Cat the Great Leprechaun Chase.

We had a few activities this week where we counted items or aloud and we need more practice at home. We had some students skipping numbers or not know more after ten. PLEASE reinforce NUMBERS at home…. recognition (flashcards), counting, and counting items (their toys as they clean up). I told the classes we need more work at home on this matter!

One more week until Spring Break, if you have any questions…please message me! Have a good weekend!
