This week we covered the letter Nn and had some fun centers and got things started with some Christmas activities/crafts.
Monday: Nursery Rhymes and Packing Shoe Boxes – We started our day checking out books. We created our own Hickory Dickory Dock clocks for the nursery rhyme. We also completed a sequencing Humpty Dumpty activity along with a letter Nn is for Nose page. We packed up all our shoeboxes with all the donations from our ABC families. Our stories today were the AlphaTale Story The Nice Newt and The Ninjabread Man.
Tuesday: Oodles of Noodles – Students started their day with a letter Nn letter find. We also counted how many Nn’s we found on the page. The kids created their Nigel the Nightowl for our Zoophonics animal. We also strung our own noodle necklaces and completed our letter Nn word sort. The books today were No David! and The Napping House.
Wednesday: Nifty Numbers/Specials – We started our day practicing our names in our QKs. Centers today were writing our numbers with pencils and tracing, number 5-10 cut and paste matching, rainbow write our numbers and created our numbers with pop-its. We had specials also during the morning. The book today was Not a Box.
Thursday: Name Day – Students came in and found a first and last name page waiting for them to trace and practice. We also practiced spelling our names aloud in class. This is something we will continue to do daily! We also rainbow wrote our names and completed our November writing/coloring sample. We also got handprints for a Christmas craft! We will start doing more little tibits of crafts since some things take a day to dry.
