We had a T-errifc week covering the letter Tt!
Monday – Students completed a Tt is for turtle page for start up. Centers included coloring and cutting out 4 triangles, turkey tips with the letter Tt cut and paste activity, putting the correct number of feathers on the turkeys, and cutting out all their pieces for their turkey craft we finished later in the week. The book read was Turkey Trouble.
Tuesday – We had a truck to color and cut out at start up. The book we read was Never Tickle a Tiger. We got our turkey parts are glued on and ready to be sent home. Students also tore paper and followed directions to create a piece of pumpkin pie to go home with their turkeys. As a class we completed the transportation count and graph page. We have done something similar like this before and the students did well.
Wednesday – We made our Timothy the Tiger zoophonics T and students also completed a Tt letter search at start up. We practiced our Tt writing and we are getting ready to start some of our Christmas crafts and gifts the students will be making and also talked about our upcoming Christmas play. The book read was Ten Pigs.
Thursday – Lots of students worn brown and brought in an item or picture to share with their classmates of something they are thankful for. I enjoyed having the students come up in front of the class and share. Even the shy ones are coming out of their shells and talking more, which is great! We also got to watch Charlie Brown Thanksgiving which goes with our Thanksgiving party we are having on Monday. Once we returned to class after the movie, students wrote and drew something they are thankful for. We also practiced writing our names more. The book read was There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie.
This upcoming Monday the 21st is our Thanksgiving party. If you were contacted to donate an item, please send that in with your child on Monday and if you are helping out, please arrive 10 minutes prior at the doors by the ramp (F) and Mrs. Colleen will explain what help is needed at each station. Thank you again parents for your help and donations!
We have a short week ahead but will be having a good turkey time!
