Hello! We learned all about the Letter N this week! Names, Numbers, Noodles and a Nap to end the week!
On Tuesday We started N week with N is for Names!
In our centers we colored a leaf with watercolors to uncover our name in white crayon, roll and color leaves, traced and made the Letter N sounds, made our name with Legos, made the Letter N with floam. In the afternoon we did a handprint project and did a cut/glue and number matching project.
On Wednesday N was for Numbers! In our centers we painted the letter N with Qtips, using dice filled in a ten frame with counting chips, traced our letters and numbers, sorted letter/number magnets, and matched numbers 1-10.
We also had specials where we had a Spanish, phonics, and sign language lesson as well as saw a science experiment- what happens to candy corn in hot/cold water, vinegar, tonic water, and borax water?? In the end they all dissolved but it seemed the hot water was the fastest and the vinegar left a waxy film floating in the cup.
In the afternoon we went on a Number hunt in the big room searching for numbers 1-20 and counted using stickers!
Wednesday was all about Noodles! We made noodle necklaces, colored a hidden picture sheet with capital and lower case Ns, Traced and found the Letter N, and using dyed noodles for leaves counted and matched the number trees, made the letter N with noodles and counting chips on a light table.
In the afternoon we did a N sounds cut/paste project and made letters and shapes with playdoh.
I’m sure the kids have mentioned it, but this week we said Goodbye to our friend and classmate Michael as his family relocated.
I hope you all have a great weekend!!
