This week we had the letter Ff and learned who Francy the Fish was. Ask your child who Francy is!

Monday – Picture Day…so we did no painting or markers today, so our clothes, faces and hands were clean for pictures when it was our turn. The students looked at books when they arrived, and we also completed our October Writing/Coloring sample. The students also did their own farm following directions activity. I read a short poem that goes along with the farm picture they each have. They need to be listening to the poem and coloring the correct items the correct color. We do this activity again at the end of the year. The books we read today were Big Red Barn and Cockadoodle Doo Barnyard Hullabaloo.

Tuesday – We had more farm activities today. Students practiced their names in their QKs upon arrival. Our centers included counting farm animals in QKs and choosing the correct answer, tracing lines to help the farm animals get back to the barn, letter Ff hunt and lastly Roll Count Color with farm animals. The books read today were Dooby Dooby Moo and Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf. We also got handprints for a farm animal that will be at the ABC farm on the big room wall once it gets painted.

Wednesday – Students started the day completing their F is for frog page. We made our own Francy the Fish today that goes along with our Zoophonics we are learning. We also created our own frogs by following directions and watching me create a sample. The kids enjoyed drawing a frog and showing them off in their picture that I posted on Group Me. The books today were Froggy Learns to Swim and I Don’t Want to be a Frog.

Thursday – The kids came into a firetruck color page for startup. We created some fun paper fish today and once we finished; we had a little extra time to finish our last few evaluation items. I tried showing the kids how to hold their fish like it would be a real catch in the picture on Group Me. The books today were Pete the Cat Firefighter Pete and There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly.

I know Thursday was our fire/police safety day but on Monday we have some firefighters coming into the school to talk to the children and hopefully show off a fire truck to them! This was finalized after calendars were made and when the firefighters were available to stop by.

As always work on at home: writing their first name, letter and number recognition, cutting and coloring/drawing is always a plus.

Let me know if you have any questions, you can email or message me privately on Group Me.
