We ended the month of October with some fun and started November off with some Zzs! There was no sleeping, just the letter!

Monday: We watched Spookley the Square Pumpkin and had a snack while we watched the movie! The kids also colored their own Spookley at the start of class. Two Halloween books I read today were How Spider Saved Halloween and The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

Tuesday: Happy Halloween! Classes started with a trick or treat color page and we had some Halloween centers and activities today. We created ourselves as Mummies (these I kept for graduation boards!), completed a candy corn number match, letter Oo writing, pumpkin pattern cut/paste/color page, and a letter Oo item sound page. The books today were Franklin’s Halloween and Inside a House that is Haunted.

Wednesday: Zany Zebra Day – Students came into class to complete a letter Zz zebra writing page. The centers we had today were Zebra cut and paste puzzle, Zz letter line up tracing, and we made our Zeke the Zebra for zoophonics. The books we read today were There’s an Animal Strike at the Zoo, The Underpants Zoo, and My School is a Zoo. We also had Chapel today where we learned about Noah’s Ark and heard a cute song at the end of the lesson.

Thursday: Zoo/Animal Print Day – At start up today, the kids finished a Z is for Zoo color page. We also went through and practiced hearing and listening for the Zz beginning sounds on words. We also read the story Good Night, Gorilla and completed a retelling wheel that went along with the story. The other book read today was Curious George Visits the Zoo.

We have started off November and LOTS to get done in the next couple weeks with holidays and different activities happening at school. The new year will be here before we know it!

Next week we have some fun things planned for the letter Nn. See everyone back on Monday!
