Hello! We had a great week focusing on the letter R! From Robots to Rainbows we had a lot of fun!
Tuesday was all about rainbows. We made a rainbow name craft and worked on a R sounds worksheet.
In our centers we matched numbers on rainbow cards. Used a rainbow with stacking circles, did a mosaic project with our name, made the letter R with rainbow chains, and did a rainbow writing of our name.
On Tuesday we also had our monthly chapel and heard The Parable of the Pumpkin- just as the Farmer picks a pumpkin, cleans it up inside and out and puts a shining light for all to see- God does the same for us!
On Wed. We focused on R is for rectangles and robots. We also had specials where we reviewed sounds, numbers and colors in Spanish, sign language, and did a walking rainbow experiment where we experienced colors mixing to make new colors!
In our centers we made robots out of rectangles, traced the letter R and found words that start with R, made unifix cube towers on numbered robots, and made rectangles using rubber bands. We also did a hand painting project and worked on more of our R sounds.
Thursday was R is for Rockets! We did a cut and glue rocket project, color by number rocket, using dot markers solved the R maze, patterns and sizing with unifix cubes, made the letter R with kinetic sand. In the afternoon we got outside to shoot off some stomp rockets- the kids loved it! Then we came back in side and made a name rocket!
So much fun learning about the letter R this week!
Next we celebrate with our Harvest Party. Our party is Tuesday afternoon and all are welcome to come! Kids can wear costumes (nothing scary please!) and we’ll have a fun filled day!
Have a great weekend!
