We had a really fun week of apples and the letter A! Here’s a snap shot…
In centers we practiced writing the letter ‘Aa,’ we hole punched apples, and we put apples (pom poms) on apple trees with tweezers. We also, painted with Q-tips, we did an apple dot to dot, and weaved pipe cleaners and string through holes in paper apples to make the worms.
Hopefully the kids came home and told you about taste testing red, green and yellow apples. The kids decided on their favorite and we then graphed which was the favorite in the class. Red was the winner so we colored the graph and then made tally marks for the number of kids that liked each apple. It’s always a fun activity!
We read several books including, ’10 Apples Up On Top,’ ‘Apple Countdown,’ and ‘Max and Mo Let’s Go Apple Picking.’
In art we painted with apples! We will be finishing those up next week and our apples will become lady bugs.
Next week we will talk more about the letters A and M. Thanks for wearing red on Thursday!
