WELCOME TO MRS. AIMEE’S 4-DAY PRE-K!!!

We had a great first week of getting into routines, adjusting to our schedule, and meeting all our new friends! We are going to have a great year and I am looking forward to seeing each of them grow!

Tuesday- 1st Day: Students entered the room and tried to find their name and got coloring on a back to school color page. We also got our handprints for our first day picture, took our 1st day of pre-k picture, drew our self-portraits and colored a page that I’ll put a printed picture on. I read three books today- 1st Day Jitters, If you take a Mouse to School, and David Goes to School.

Wednesday- All About Me: Students entered the class finding their stick to mark attendance and then found their name/pouch and had a name practice page to work on. We also colored our own Dr. Seuss hats (these are on display in the hallway) and completed a When I Grow Up…page. We also started our name crayon boxes that will be completed tomorrow. Books today were B.Bear and Lolly Off to School, Clifford’s School Trip, and If you ever want to bring an alligator to school, DON’T!

Thursday- Wear fav color/outfit: Students were dressed to impress with fav colors/outfits today. When students arrived they got to browse through some of my books we have in class. We finished up our crayon boxes today and did all the cutting and gluing. We CUT A LOT in class and please don’t be scared to work with your child at home with cutting, it will get better! Use scrap paper, junk mail, even their old school papers that you don’t keep on display on the fridge they can cut! Lastly, we started our name pencils today and got them colored. We ran out of time for a book.

Friday- Show and Share About Me pages: Students practiced writing their names in their quick kits (QK) which will be at least a once a week start up activity. We finished our pencils, shared our About Me pages with our classmates and even had a few extra minutes at the end of the day to go out to the playground. The books today were Peppa’s Class Trip and Little Critter’s The Best Show and Share Ever.

We had a great first week and hope all the kids came home and said the same to you! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out through email or you can direct message me on Group Me. Have a great weekend and see everyone back on Monday!
