Welcome to Mrs. Aimee’s ½ day Pre-K Class!!! I was excited to meet and see everyone again this week and already have learned a lot about all the students!!! I am looking forward to having a great deal of fun with everyone, as well as learning a TON! Each week our daily items will be posted here and you can get a snapshot of what we did in class each day.
Tuesday: 1st Day! – We took first day of school pictures, did our 1st day handprints, wrote our name for the first time and went over a lot of our routines and rules and got to know each other a bit. The books I read were 1st Day Jitters, Mouse Loves School, and Dr. Seuss’ ABCs.
Wednesday: All About Me – Students started the day coloring a Cat in the Hat coloring page. We completed an All About Me page and tried following step by step directions so we did this together. They also completed a When I grow up… page and illustrated the page also. The books today were How Do Dinosaurs Go to School? and Do You Eat Candy Without Me? Students may have asked you if you eat candy without them after reading that book!
Thursday: Wear your Favorite Color or Outfit – The kids came in to find their names with their pouches and practice their name writing sheets in their QK (quick kits). We practiced centers today and rotating and the centers were the following: tangram animals, coloring a Seuss Hat, practiced tracing slanted lines in QKs, and number and letter puzzles. The books read were Be Who You Are and Wild About Us!
Friday: Show and Share All About Me pages – They started the name coloring and decorating their name in bubble letters. They must find their pouch and spot each day. We continued to practice centers today and they did well so starting next week we will be good to go for getting down to work hard! The centers we had today included: threading beads on string, magnetic tiles, animal shape puzzles, and connector wheels. They enjoyed moving and worked hard at each stop! The books I read today were This Is My Family by Little Critter and Mom, Dad and Me.
This weekend I plan on setting up Group Me so look for a notification and or get the app downloaded if you haven’t already! This will be the best and easiest way to communicate with me! Please let me know if you have any questions via email until it gets set up MrsAimeeABC@gmail.com
