Hello and Welcome Back!! Welcome to the first week of school!
This week we focused on schedules and classroom routines. Wednesday was kind of a crazy day but the kids did great!
On Tuesday in our centers we did a hand painting craft, did a first day worksheet with our names and self portrait, Lego pattern cards, number match popsicles, and letter tracing.
At the end of the day we worked on a pencil craft where we practiced name writing, cutting, and gluing.
Wednesday was an adjusted schedule due to the funeral in the church. In our centers we finished the pencil craft we started on Tuesday, We made a book of lines, pictures, and shapes to trace, letter matching, sorted bears by shape and size, and made shapes on geo boards, We also did a “Get to know our Friends” activity. We all stood in a circle and threw a ball to each other. If we caught the ball we answered a question. Questions consisted of Favorite color, Favorite food, Age, Favorite animal…. The kids had fun with this one and helped break the ice a little with our new classmates!
In the afternoon we did a cutting project.
On Thursday in our centers we practiced writing our name, used dot stickers to fill in a circle, using letter playdoh cutters we made our name with playdoh, did a Build a City activity stacking Legos on the correct numbers. We also did tanagram puzzles. After lunch we made a torn paper craft to look like a Lego mini figure head. At the very end of the day we went outside. It was so nice so we took advantage of the time and let the kids play on the playground.
We had a great first week! We have a great bunch of kids and I’m looking forward to watching them all grow this year!
Have a great weekend!
