Hello! Welcome to the end of week 2! We’re still getting used to the being at school all day schedule! Some of these kids are just exhausted by the time 2:30 rolls around!
This week we focused on All About Me! We went over our All About Me Sheets, talked about our families, and How God made each of us unique! We even put in a small group lesson about our 5 senses!
On Tuesday some of our centers included coloring a house. Drawing a picture of our Family, making circles and ovals with kinetic sand, and stamping our name.
On Wednesday some of our centers included coloring the first letter of our name, drawing a self portrait, using our counting skills making a caterpillar body with our fingerprints, and making patterns with unifix cubes.
On Thursday we read Our Class is a Family. A cute little story about treating our classmates as family since we spend so much time together!
In our centers we Colored our monthly name sample, cut out a picture of a house to use with family counting objects, Did our first writing prompt of the year- If I were a hungry caterpillar I would eat….. and finished it off with a picture. We also played with floam and practiced following directions with a color by number sheet. I put up a sample and label the different colors to make it a little easier. We’re also trying to take advantage of the nice weather and we’ve been going outside to play daily!
Just a quick note for the week- Thank you for labeling lunch boxes and water bottles!! It really does make things easier and quicker!!
Thank you for a smooth start to the year!! We get a little more used to the school days each week!
Have a great weekend!
